We arrive at the base a little ahead of our 5:30 a.m. Kickoff is a warm seamoss drink appropriate for this cool Atlantic occasion. Then it’s time to paddle out to the cozy pebble beach, just past the floating seamoss farms. A ten-minute hike from beach to the expansive peninsular reveals a welcoming sunrise not experienced anywhere else. After your fill of the glorious dawn, we paddle back to Marva’s scrumptious Kweyol breakfast, featuring hot bakes, local cocoa tea, garnished with creole style salted code, sardines or mackerel, and cucumber salad.
