Join us on an exciting culinary journey where you’ll learn the secrets of traditional St. Lucian Creole cooking. From picking your own fresh seasonings spices and teas, to the hands-on cooking class, you’ll discover the rich flavors and traditions of authentic St. Lucian cuisine. A unique immersion of island tradition, in a modern setting, with the most genuine hosts surrounded by spectacular panoramic views of the island and cool island breeze.

Description

Your day will begin with a pickup from your hotel lobby, private villa or cruise port. Your class starts with a brief introduction to what Creole means in St. Lucia before reviewing the menu for the day. This menu will be based on your personal preferences from a preliminary discussion with consideration of what is in season and available at the time of the class.

We then head to a kitchen garden, where you’ll learn about the local spices and seasonings as you pick some of those same fresh ingredients for your class. Then it’s time to get hands-on experience preparing your traditional St. Lucian Creole meal. Your hosts will be on hand to show you the methods and techniques of cooking in this style as you learn why those methods were used and developed.

While your meal is cooking, you’ll have the chance to sample some home made  and traditional spiced rums and rum remedies, fresh local teas from leaves and flowers picked by your hand, locally-made snacks, and maybe even take a walk through the property to partake in some fresh fruits and coconut while engaging in conversation with your hosts about the food, culture, and history of St. Lucia. An experience not possible to explain through this screen.

Finally, everyone sits down to enjoy your delicious, homemade St. Lucian Creole meal, prepared with your own hands surrounded by some amazing mountain and Atlantic Ocean views.

Before you leave, you’ll receive a digital recipe card, specific to your personal class, which you can use to recreate your delicious St. Lucian meal back home.
